Healing Techniques in Dynasty Warriors Origins Revealed

Author : Nicholas May 12,2025

For newcomers to the Dynasty Warriors series, mastering the art of healing in Dynasty Warriors: Origins is crucial, especially given the varying levels of damage players might encounter based on their skill and chosen difficulty. Thankfully, healing in this game is user-friendly, requiring only the use of a specific consumable item to restore health. For those who prefer a hands-off approach, an auto-healing feature is available, making it easier to focus on the action without constantly monitoring your health bar.

How to Heal in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, healing is achieved through the use of meat buns, a staple healing item from previous games in the series. These can be obtained by smashing pots scattered around enemy bases. Additionally, there's a chance that defeated Enemy Officers will drop meat buns, though this is limited to the Historian and Wayfarer difficulty settings. On tougher settings like Hero and Ultimate Warrior, officers won't drop these buns, making them a bit scarcer.

To heal during battle, players simply need to press Up on the D-Pad if they have a meat bun in their inventory. If your inventory is full upon picking up a meat bun, it will be automatically consumed unless you're already at full health, in which case it remains on the ground. Initially, players can carry up to three meat buns, but this capacity can be expanded with the Meat Bun Glutton skill for those who find three insufficient.

For players who prefer not to manage their healing manually, the "Auto-Use Meat Buns" option can be enabled in the Configuration menu. This feature automatically consumes meat buns when your health drops below a certain threshold, ensuring you stay in the fight without interruption. Even with this option enabled, manual use of meat buns remains possible, making it a versatile choice for all players.
