Pokémon TCG Pocket's Trading Feature Launches, Alongside Space-Time Smackdown Expansion

January's end brings exciting news for Pokémon TCG Pocket fans: the highly-anticipated trading feature has finally arrived, accompanied by the major Space-Time Smackdown expansion!

The trading system allows players to exchange cards with friends, mirroring real-life trading. While restrictions exist—only certain rarities (1-4 and 1-star) are tradeable, and resources like trade hourglasses and tokens are required—it's a significant addition to the game.

Space-Time Smackdown introduces iconic Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia, alongside Sinnoh region starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, among other additions.

Initial player reception to the trading feature has been mixed, with some expressing disappointment. While the feature itself is well-implemented, the numerous caveats and resource requirements have been criticized. Some argue that a less restrictive, or even absent, trading system would have been preferable. However, developers have indicated they are monitoring player feedback and may implement changes in the future.

For players returning to the game, a guide to the best starting decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket is available to help refresh strategies.
