Hades 2 Releases Warsong Update
The God Of War, Ares, Has Arrived
The roguelike dungeon crawler sequel, Hades II, has launched its second major patch, The Warsong Update. This update propels protagonist Melinoë into the "Final Confrontation" beyond the Guardian of Olympus and introduces the bloodthirsty god of war, Ares, into the mix. Ares brings his Boons, adding a fierce new element to your gameplay experience.
Beyond Ares's introduction, the update boasts a new animal familiar, fresh enemies to battle, and an updated Altar of Ashes featuring new art and Arcana effects. Players can also enjoy over 2,000 new voice lines and new events. For a break from the intense dungeon crawling, relax in the Crossroads, immerse yourself in all-new soundtracks, or even sing a melodic duet with Artemis herself.
Planning Ahead For The Third Major Update
Even as The Warsong Update rolls out, Supergiant Games is already laying the groundwork for the third major update, slated for release "some months from now," as per their Steam news post. Hades II will remain in Early Access for now, with the developers indicating that "it's still too early to share our plans beyond that, including when our v1.0 launch will be." However, they hint that the full release might be closer than expected, as the core structures of both the Underworld and the Surface routes are now essentially complete, and their focus is shifting to enrich the existing content.
Following The Warsong Update's post-launch patches, Supergiant Games will focus on the following initiatives:
- Hidden Aspects: The Nocturnal Arms hold undiscovered secrets that players will eventually uncover and wield.
- Enhanced Guardians: Boss battles, a crucial part of Hades II, will be refined to challenge and surprise players even more.
- Expanded Story: The rest of Melinoë's story, along with various inter-character relationships and subplots, is being meticulously planned.
Supergiant Games concluded their post with heartfelt thanks to all their players, stating, "In the meantime, thank you very much for playing Hades II! You're helping us get closer to achieving our goal of making our first-ever sequel our biggest, most replayable game yet, and a worthy successor to the original Hades that's filled with its own surprises and special touches."
The Hades II The Warsong Update is now available to download for free on Steam for those who own a copy of the game.
