Rune Slayer Beginner Tips

Here are some invaluable tips we wish we had known from the start to make your journey smoother:

Do not randomly attack other players

When *Rune Slayer* announced full-loot PvP, we braced ourselves for a chaotic free-for-all. Thankfully, our fears were largely unfounded. **In *Rune Slayer*, death doesn't mean loss of items**, even at the hands of other players. You simply respawn and continue your adventure.

However, **attacking other players incurs a bounty**. The more players you kill, the higher your bounty, and consequently, the more items you'll drop upon your own death. Essentially, you can turn *Rune Slayer* into a full-loot PvP experience by engaging in player kills, but beware of the consequences.

Our advice? **Avoid attacking other players** unless you have a solid reason or a group to support you. It's safer and more enjoyable to play without the added risk.

Craft Bags ASAP

You'll quickly realize that both your **bank and inventory spaces are quite limited**. With a cap at 50 items, your inventory can fill up fast. The solution? **Craft bags**. You can equip up to two bags simultaneously, starting with the **Cotton Bag**.

To craft a Cotton Bag, **gather Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south**—watch out for mobs in the southern region. Each Cotton Bag adds 10 extra slots, so prioritize crafting them early on.

Your pets don’t actually die

There's a common misunderstanding that your tamed pets die when their health reaches zero. Not so! **When your pet 'dies', it's simply unavailable for 5 minutes**. You can check this cooldown by holding T. After the cooldown, hold T again to resummon your pet.

Bonus Tip: To **quickly heal your pet**, store and unstore it at the stable master. You have one free slot, so make use of it.

Grab all the Quests (Yes, all of them)

*Rune Slayer* is packed with numerous quests, most of which are not repeatable and can be forgettable. They often follow the familiar "Kill 10 X" format seen in many MMORPGs.

To manage this efficiently, **accept every quest you encounter**. Use the Job board to pick up additional tasks. Completing multiple quests simultaneously is far more effective than tackling them one by one. You might even find that you can complete several quests at once without realizing it.

Craft everything at least once (even things you don’t need)

While you should prioritize crafting what you need, don't hesitate to use **spare materials to craft items you might not immediately require**. Crafting items for the first time often **unlocks new, more powerful crafting options**. For instance, smelting your first Iron Ore unlocked a range of Iron Armor crafts for us. So, be generous with your materials and experiment with crafting.

Join a Guild

*Rune Slayer* is quite solo-friendly, but as you delve deeper, you'll encounter **tougher enemies** designed for group encounters. **Joining a guild** is the easiest way to find teammates to tackle these challenges.

Use the general chat to express your need for a guild, or explore the official *Rune Slayer* Discord server to find a suitable group. Teaming up will make your journey far more enjoyable and efficient.

And that's all there is to it! Have fun exploring *Rune Slayer*, and if you're just starting out, don't forget to check out the *Rune Slayer* Trello and Discord for more tips and community support.
