Genshin Impact 5.4: Popular Character Banner Rerun Leaked

Summary

  • According to a leak, Wriothesley may get a rerun in Genshin Impact Version 5.4 after waiting over a year in the Fortress of Meropide.
  • Genshin Impact struggles to maintain a fair schedule with over 90 playable characters and limited rerun slots.
  • Despite a new Spiral Abyss buff benefiting Wriothesley, players may face longer rerun wait times until triple banners are introduced.

According to a recent Genshin Impact leak, Wriothesley is set to receive his first rerun in Version 5.4 after over a year of waiting in the Fortress of Meropide. With over 90 playable characters, Genshin Impact faces a significant challenge in maintaining a fair and equitable schedule for its Event Banners. Given that only one new 5-Star character is typically released per patch, there are still 43 limited 5-Star characters that should ideally have a rerun once per year. However, with only 27 possible slots for these reruns, achieving this balance is currently unfeasible.

The introduction of the Chronicled Banner in Genshin Impact was an attempt by the developers to address this issue, yet many players view it as a temporary solution rather than a long-term fix. For instance, Shenhe waited over 600 days for her rerun, which was finally confirmed for Version 5.3. Until the developers consider implementing Triple Banners, Genshin Impact players may need to endure extended wait times for character reruns.

A clear example of this scheduling challenge is Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst who debuted in Version 4.1 and has not been featured on the Event Banners since. Wriothesley offers a modern take on the Cryo hypercarry with his Burnmelt teams delivering impressive damage output. However, players have been unable to pull for him since November 8, 2023. According to the leaker Flying Flame, this will change in Version 5.4, with Wriothesley set to appear on the Event Banners.

Genshin Impact Could Feature a Wriothesley Banner in Version 5.4

It's worth noting that Flying Flame has a mixed track record, particularly with leaks related to Natlan. While they were the first to accurately predict the arrival of a new Chronicled Banner in Version 5.3 themed around the Lantern Rite, other predictions have proven inaccurate. Therefore, Genshin Impact players should approach this information with caution. However, the new Spiral Abyss buff in Genshin Impact does enhance Wriothesley's playstyle, lending some credibility to the rumor.

Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki to Genshin Impact, potentially as Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured on one half of the Event Banners, the other half is expected to include either Furina or Venti, as these are the only Archons yet to have their reruns in the current sequence. Version 5.4 is scheduled to launch on February 12, 2025.
