The iconic survival horror games, *Dino Crisis* and *Dino Crisis 2*, have roared back to life with re-releases on PC through GOG. As part of GOG's Preservation Program, these cult classics from the PlayStation era are now available DRM-free, maintaining their original content in pristine condition.
Originally launched by Capcom, *Dino Crisis* hit the PlayStation in 1999, followed by *Dino Crisis 2* in 2000. The series also saw *Dino Crisis 3* released exclusively for the original Xbox in 2003. Despite fervent fan demands for a new installment or an HD remake, Capcom has shown little interest. The release of *Exoprimal* in 2022, a dinosaur-themed multiplayer game, was perceived by many as the final nail in the coffin for the *Dino Crisis* series. Furthermore, in August of last year, the series' creator, Shinji Mikami, commented that the success of Capcom's *Monster Hunter* franchise leaves little room for a *Dino Crisis* reboot or remake.
Previously, the PC ports of the first two *Dino Crisis* games were notoriously hard to find and challenging to run on modern systems. GOG's efforts in making these games accessible are highly appreciated by fans. "Thanks to the tremendous efforts of Capcom and GOG, Regina's iconic line, 'You're extinct!' no longer applies to the game itself," GOG stated. "The timeless thriller that defined a generation of gamers is made to last forever, enhanced for today's systems, featuring all the original content you loved with numerous improvements."

These votes are instrumental in showing IP owners the community's interest, potentially bringing more classic titles back to life on GOG.
