Warhorse Studios has just rolled out an exciting free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II – version 1.2. This substantial patch brings two major enhancements to the game: seamless integration of mods via Steam Workshop and a brand new barber shop system that lets you spruce up your character's look.
The integration of Steam Workshop into Kingdom Come: Deliverance II streamlines the modding experience, allowing players to easily download and install mods directly from within the game. This feature removes the hassle of using third-party platforms, although it does rely on mod creators to share their creations on Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection of mods is modest, but promising, featuring:
- Free Saving: This mod replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item after use, giving players unlimited saves.
- Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a unique horned helmet, drawing inspiration from historical designs.
- Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, opening up restricted story locations for exploration.
- Pebbles the Zebra: Turns your trusty steed into a zebra, complete with a striking visual effect.
While the current mod offerings are limited, the modding community is poised for growth. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, many creators are likely to cross-post to Steam Workshop. Although it may not reach the same breadth as Nexus Mods, popular mods are expected to make their way to Steam Workshop soon.

In addition to modding, players can now head to barber shops in Rattay and Kuttenberg to change their hairstyle or beard. Not only does this add a layer of personalization, but visiting a barber also grants a temporary boost to the protagonist's Charisma stat.
Update 1.2 is packed with more than just these new features. The game's official website lists a comprehensive changelog, highlighting over a thousand fixes and improvements touching nearly every aspect of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. These updates encompass balancing adjustments, refined animations, and enhanced NPC behavior, including a more accurate crime system.
Other significant updates include:
- Revised daily schedules for NPCs, making their routines more lifelike.
- Enhanced horse riding mechanics and improved horse trading systems.
- Better character visuals and overall performance, especially in Kuttenberg and during large-scale battles.
Warhorse Studios plans to dive deeper into these changes during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio remains dedicated to the game's ongoing development, with three paid DLC expansions scheduled for release in spring, summer, and winter.
With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and a wealth of gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to enrich its medieval world, offering players an ever-evolving and immersive experience.
