Marvel Rivals Emulates Overwatch with Spring Festival Event

Marvel Rivals has just unveiled its exciting Spring Festival event, set to kick off this Thursday. Gamers can look forward to a free Star-Lord costume and a unique game mode called Clash of Dancing Lions. In this mode, teams of three players will compete to score a ball into their opponents' goal, drawing comparisons to Rocket League and Lucioball from Overwatch.

While it's easy to see the similarities with Rocket League, the new mode in Marvel Rivals more closely resembles Lucioball, the inaugural special game mode in Overwatch, which itself was inspired by Rocket League. This comparison is particularly noteworthy as Marvel Rivals aims to carve out its own identity and surpass Overwatch. However, its first major event introduces a mode strikingly similar to Overwatch's debut event. The key difference lies in the thematic elements: Overwatch's version was themed around the Olympic Games, whereas Marvel Rivals infuses strong Chinese cultural vibes into its Spring Festival celebration.

The good news is, fans won't have to wait long to dive into this action, as the Spring Festival event is just around the corner, starting this Thursday.
