Unlocking the Rosa's Book Side Quest
To initiate the quest for Rosa's book, you must first complete "Via Argentum" and begin "Taking French Leave." After assisting the Ruthard family with Vavak, either through force or persuasion, you'll be directed to speak with Rosa. She'll reveal a secret passage into Maleshov, crucial for rescuing Hans. During this conversation, Rosa will request that you retrieve a book for her while you're in Maleshov. Make sure to ask her about the specific book and promise to bring it back to her, officially starting "Rosa's Book."
Remember, you can only complete this quest during "Taking French Leave." Failing to find the book before leaving with Hans will result in quest failure and lost opportunities, such as the chance to romance Rosa.
Upon entering Maleshov, head towards the largest tower where Hans is located at the top. Use the stairs on the side of the building to reach the entrance. Once inside, you'll find another set of stairs near a small kitchen. Hide in the kitchen until the guards finish their conversation and leave the tower.
Sneak up the stairs to a room where Lady Ofka is sitting by the fireplace. Stealthily move behind her to knock her out. Collect the keys from her body and the podium, and grab the sword from the chest in her room. In this same room, locate Rosa's book to the right of the fireplace in a window alcove. Picking up the red book will update your objective to return it to Rosa.
Before leaving, don't forget to enter the adjacent room and take another sword from the chest there. This will save you time later when you need two weapons for Hans and his guest. Proceed to the top level and unlock the left door to trigger a cutscene.
After the cutscene, continue with "Taking French Leave." Although Hans refuses to use the passageway, you can advance towards romancing him by selecting the heart dialogue option, provided you chose similarly in Trosky. Sneak to the northern stables of Maleshov, taking out guards and hiding them as necessary. Clear a path for Hans and signal him to join you at the stables.
Once you open the gate, another cutscene will conclude the quest. Following this, return to Kuttenberg City and stop by Ruthard Palace to deliver Rosa's book, successfully completing the side quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
