Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Completing the "Under the Straw Hat" Quest

Author : Victoria Mar 13,2025

To tackle the "Under the Straw Hat" quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, you'll first need to reach Kuttenberg and begin the "In Vino Veritas" quest. This unlocks access to the region and sets the stage for the vineyard infiltration. Once in Kuttenberg, find Casper Rudolf, offering free wine samples on the city's west side. He needs your help gathering information to improve his wine.

You can choose to directly approach Havel, impressing him with wine knowledge (requiring fancy attire and cleanliness), or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta for more information. To impress Havel, select "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It’s missing ginger" during your conversation. Return Casper's findings to him.

Accessing the Vineyard

Casper now wants you to infiltrate the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to investigate a specific incense. Avoid trespassing by following the main road. Speak with the recruiter; this initiates the "Under the Straw Hat" quest. Proceed to find Jerome, who'll explain vineyard work.

Working the Vineyard

Work begins the following day. You can either diligently move sacks and pick thistles for payment, or directly seek the secret incense in the cellar (risking punishment if caught). To access the cellar, either pick the lock or steal Jerome's keys. Inside, locate the chest containing Sulphur Wicks—the quest's primary objective. For an extra reward, collect five seedlings near the main building's entrance (this involves trespassing, so act quickly). Once you have the wicks (and optionally seedlings), return to Casper to complete both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas." You're now free to pursue other quests, such as "Master Schindel’s Toys."

*Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.*
