The 10 Best LEGO Games of All Time

Author : Noah Mar 18,2025

LEGO's foray into video games began nearly 31 years ago with LEGO Fun to Build on the SEGA Pico. Since then, games built around these iconic Danish bricks and minifigures have blossomed into a genre unto themselves, largely thanks to Traveller's Tales' addictive blend of action-platforming and the countless pop-culture franchises they've LEGO-fied.

Narrowing down the best was a challenge, but we've compiled our Top 10 LEGO games of all time (so far!). Don't forget to check out the recently released LEGO Fortnite!

The 10 Best LEGO Games

10. LEGO Island

No LEGO games list is complete without the 1997 PC classic, LEGO Island. Though its graphics might seem dated, the gameplay remains surprisingly fun and nostalgic. Stop the escaped convict, Brickster, from destroying LEGO Island, brick by brick! Its diverse characters and surprisingly open world structure offer a charming and engaging adventure. Finding a copy might be tricky, but it's a worthwhile trip back in time.

9. LEGO The Lord of the Rings

LEGO The Lord of the Rings cleverly uses audio clips from the movies, creating a uniquely silly yet respectful experience. Witness Boromir's dramatic death scene with a comedic twist! The game boasts a large roster, including book characters like Tom Bombadil, along with the usual LEGO puzzle-solving and action. It's a truly memorable LEGO adventure.

8. LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures

Surprisingly successful in adapting a less family-friendly franchise, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures playfully reimagines the first three films. Gameplay is improved from earlier LEGO Star Wars titles, focusing on puzzles and exploration alongside combat. Local co-op makes this a timeless classic, holding up remarkably well even today.

A unique twist on the LEGO formula, LEGO DC Super-Villains lets you play as the bad guys! This showcases the charm of LEGO games and TT Games' ability to make even notorious villains endearing. The inclusion of a customizable character adds a creative layer to the experience.
