NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to powerful options such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the game, but one weapon will feel familiar to Square Enix fans.

Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV makes an appearance during your first playthrough. Here's how to locate it and its key stats.

Where To Find The Engine Blade In NieR: Automata

The Engine Blade is hidden within the factory area, but not accessible during the game's opening. You'll need to revisit the location as 2B later in the game. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) provides a quick route to acquire it. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.

Exiting the access point, veer right following the path with the 2D camera perspective. You'll pass a fenced area, ascend broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with moving boxes and potentially hazardous presses. Jump to the next cylinder, avoiding the spider-like enemies.

Enter the door to your left, climbing more stairs while dodging falling explosive enemies. A railing ends midway, leading to an extended platform. Proceed towards the camera to trigger another 2D platforming section, jumping over presses towards the left. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest.

Beware: additional explosive enemies will descend from the ceiling as you approach.

Engine Blade Stats in NieR: Automata

  • Attack: 160-200
  • Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3

This weapon allows four upgrades, eventually reaching a light combo of 7 hits (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, it boasts a tighter damage range, offering more predictable damage output.
