Mastering Adra Acquisition in Avowed: A Comprehensive Guide

In Obsidian's Avowed, upgrading weapons and armor requires various resources, but none are as crucial – and rare – as the four Adra types. This guide details how to obtain all four: Base Adra, Awakened Adra, Corrupted Adra, and Adra Bán.

Adra Rarity and Location

The rarity and value of Adra vary; higher-quality upgrades demand rarer Adra. For instance, achieving Legendary Quality necessitates Adra Bán. Higher-tier Adra is found in more challenging game areas. While lower-tier Adra can be crafted into higher tiers at a Party Camp, directly finding higher-tier Adra in later game zones is far more efficient. Here's a region-based breakdown of Adra spawn locations:

  • Base Adra: Dawnshore
  • Awakened Adra: Emerald Stair Region
  • Corrupted Adra: Shatterscarp Region
  • Adra Bán: Galawain’s Tusks and the game's final area.

Multiple Avenues to Adra Acquisition

The type of Adra found correlates with the game region. Significant story events, like boss battles (defeating Ygwulf in Dawnshore yields Adra, while mini-bosses in the final area drop Adra Bán), often reward Adra.

Beyond major story sections, several methods exist:

  • Merchant Purchases: Merchants in major settlements (Paradis in Dawnshore, Thirdborn in Shatterscarp) often sell limited Adra.
  • Loot: Named enemies (bosses and mini-bosses) and lockboxes frequently contain Adra. Carry ample Lockpicks and explore thoroughly.
  • Crafting: Disassembling Unique weapons and armor yields Adra, the quality of the Adra reflecting the item's Quality. Lower-quality Adra can be upgraded at Party Camps.
  • Strangled Adra: These large Adra pillars, scattered across the Living Lands, often require puzzle-solving to access.

By utilizing these methods, players can effectively gather all four Adra types, paving the way for superior gear upgrades.

Avowed is currently available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass.
