New Battlefield Features to be Tested by Thousands of Players

Author : Evelyn Apr 02,2025

EA has unveiled an exciting new tool called Battlefield Labs, which serves as an internal closed beta for upcoming games in the iconic Battlefield series. The developers have given fans a sneak peek with a brief glimpse of gameplay from the current pre-alpha version.

Within Battlefield Labs, selected participants will have the opportunity to test core mechanics and innovative concepts. However, not all features tested will necessarily make it into the final game. To ensure confidentiality, participants must sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before diving into various gameplay elements. The available game modes for testing include Conquest and Breakthrough. The initial focus of these early testing phases will be on combat dynamics and the game's renowned destruction system, with subsequent phases dedicated to balance testing.

Pre-registration for Battlefield Labs is now open for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series players. In the coming weeks, a select group of a few thousand players will receive invitations to join the beta. EA plans to gradually expand the program to include more regions as development progresses.

The much-anticipated shooter has officially entered its "key stage of development," as announced by the creators. While an official release date for the new Battlefield game has not yet been disclosed, the project is being collaboratively developed by four renowned teams: DICE, Motive, Criterion Games, and Ripple Effect. This collaborative effort promises to bring a fresh and dynamic experience to fans of the series.
