Borderlands 4 Release Date Announced

Author : Mila Apr 11,2025

Gearbox has officially announced the highly anticipated release date for Borderlands 4. During the latest State of Play event, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford revealed that fans can mark their calendars for September 23, 2025. To kick off the excitement, Gearbox released a new trailer showcasing some of the innovative gameplay features that players can expect from the upcoming title.

The trailer introduces a thrilling new addition to the game—a grappling hook, which promises to add a new dimension to the already dynamic gameplay. However, fans of the series' signature elements like over-the-top guns, explosive action, and sheer mayhem will still find plenty to love in the new footage.

In celebration of the announced release date, Gearbox has also planned a special Borderlands 4-themed State of Play event set to premiere this spring. This event will delve deeper into the game, offering fans an extended look at new gameplay mechanics and, of course, more of the iconic weaponry that the franchise is known for.

While details on the storyline remain under wraps, the lead writer's previous comments about possibly moving away from "toilet humor" in the last game have sparked curiosity about whether Borderlands 4 will adopt a more mature narrative approach.

Stay tuned for more updates on Borderlands 4 as we approach the special State of Play this spring. In the meantime, you can catch up on all the exciting announcements from today's PlayStation State of Play right here.
