Firaxis Games Delays First In-Game Event for Civilization 7
Quality-of-Life Upgrades Take Priority in Civilization 7

Civilization 7 is postponing its first planned in-game event to address player-requested quality-of-life enhancements. In their February 28, 2025 development update, Firaxis Games outlined upcoming changes in their roadmap.
Update 1.1.0 launches March 4, 2025 across PC and consoles (with Nintendo Switch following later). The developers explained: "While our Natural Wonder Battle event was originally slated for Update 1.1.0, we're shifting focus to crucial quality-of-life upgrades first. We'll announce the event's new date when ready."
Since early access, player feedback has highlighted UI concerns. Firaxis responded: "We're actively working on UI improvements based on community input and appreciate all the constructive feedback we've received."
Update 1.1.0 Implements Community Suggestions

The forthcoming update introduces several player-requested changes. Full patch notes will accompany the release, but key improvements include:
The mysterious Bermuda Triangle joins the game as a free natural wonder. UI adjustments address community concerns, while the Modern Age's Cultural Legacy Path and Victory conditions receive refinements, making AI opponents more competitive in cultural victories.
The Crossroads of the World Collection's first installment launches alongside the update. Players owning premium editions or purchasing separately will gain automatic access to this content.
Next Major Update Scheduled for March 25, 2025

Firaxis plans another significant update for March 25, 2025 (date subject to change), continuing UI improvements. The team noted: "UI enhancements remain our top priority—these March changes represent just the beginning of a multi-month overhaul."
Future updates will introduce features like:
- Extended gameplay past Modern Age ("One More Turn" option)
- Auto-explore functionality
- New map sizes (excluding Switch)
- Multiplayer improvements
The developers explained: "Some features may arrive as early as April, while others require more development time. We appreciate players' patience as we implement these changes."
