Interested in diving deep into the world of Artian weapons in *Monster Hunter Wilds*? These are not your typical weapons; they're a late-game feature that offers unparalleled customization, allowing you to craft weapons with just about any stats and elements you desire. Let’s explore everything you need to know about unlocking and crafting these unique weapons.
How to Craft Artian Weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds
Unlocking the Artian weapon feature is your first step. To do this, you must complete the main story and reach High Rank. Then, you'll need to take down your first Tempered monster. While we won't spoil which monster it is, you'll recognize it by the NPCs' comments on its toughness and scars.
After defeating this formidable foe, Gemma will initiate a conversation about Artian weapons, triggering a tutorial. Through this, you'll learn that Gemma can now craft these weapons. Each weapon type requires three components, and you need at least one of each to start crafting. However, the system is more intricate than that.
Each component has a rarity value, an element type, and an Artian bonus. To craft a weapon, components must share the same rarity value. The weapon's elemental effect is determined by the most prevalent element among the components. For example, using two water and one lightning component results in a water weapon. Using three water components enhances the water infusion, but using three different elements results in no elemental infusion at all.
The Artian bonus offers either an attack boost, increasing the general damage your weapon can inflict, or an affinity boost, enhancing your critical hit chance. Your choice depends on your preferred playstyle. To craft these weapons, you'll need Artian materials.
How to Get Artian Materials in Monster Hunter Wilds
Acquiring Artian materials is straightforward: hunt Tempered monsters in High Rank. After defeating your first Tempered monster, you'll start encountering one or two in each area. You'll receive notifications when they're nearby, and they're easily identifiable on the map by their blue outline.
Defeating or capturing a Tempered monster yields Artian parts, which you can find among your main mission rewards and decorations. As your hunter rank increases, the rarity of these parts also increases, naturally progressing with your gameplay. While there's no direct correlation between the monster you hunt and the Artian drops you receive, focus on hunting monsters you enjoy fighting or those whose parts you need for other weapons or armor pieces.
