Deadlock Characters | New Heroes, Skills, Weapons, and Story

Author : Alexis Apr 10,2025

Since its launch in mid-2024, Valve's eagerly awaited MOBA shooter, Deadlock, has not only secured a top spot on Steam's Most Wishlisted games list but has also kept its community buzzing with regular weekly updates. The latest "10-24-2024" update marks a significant milestone, introducing six experimental heroes to the game's roster. These new characters—Calico, Fathom (previously known as Slork), Holliday (also referred to as Astro in their skill descriptions), Magician, Viper, and Wrecker—are currently available for testing in the Hero Sandbox mode, though they are not yet playable in casual or ranked PvP matches.

While these heroes bring fresh dynamics to the game, some of their skills are still in the development phase, with placeholders borrowed from other heroes. For instance, Magician's ultimate ability is currently a duplicate of Paradox's Paradoxical Swap. As these heroes continue to evolve, players can get an early glimpse into their roles and playstyles through the detailed descriptions provided below.

HeroDescription
CalicoAn agile and sneaky mid-to-frontline hero, Calico is designed to strike from the sidelines while remaining unseen and uncatchable.
FathomAs a short-ranged burst assassin, Fathom excels in all-in dive engagements, swiftly taking out key targets.
HollidayHolliday, a mid-to-long-ranged DPS/Assassin, leverages headshots and explosives to obliterate enemies from a distance.
MagicianA tactical, long-ranged DPS, Magician can manipulate projectiles, teleport, and swap positions with both allies and enemies.
ViperViper, a mid-to-long-ranged burst assassin, can envenom bullets to deal damage over time and petrify groups of enemies.
WreckerWrecker is a mid-to-close range brawler who turns troopers and NPCs into scrap and projectiles for their Skills.
