Yetuga marks your first boss encounter in *The First Berserker: Khazan*, and despite being the initial challenge, it's no walk in the park. Mastering the game's combat mechanics is crucial, as you'll need every skill in your arsenal to triumph over this beast at the end of the Mount Heinmach level. Known for its relentless aggression, Yetuga unleashes both long and short-range attacks, including a formidable leaping slam.
Your strategy should hinge on effective dodging and parrying to minimize damage. Yetuga's attack repertoire includes:
- A two-hit combo starting with a left-handed smash downward followed by a right-handed uppercut.
- A four-hit combo featuring horizontal swipes with either arm.
- A powerful downward smash using both arms.
- A leaping single-handed smash.
- A jumping grab.
- A charge.
Familiarizing yourself with these patterns is key. Seize opportunities to strike between its attacks. Parrying, except for the jumping grab, not only prevents damage but also inflicts significant Stamina damage on Yetuga. Leverage its aggression by dodging its charge and allowing it to smash into a wall, leaving it momentarily vulnerable for you to land free hits. This is your chance to break the ice spikes on its back, which will weaken its attacks.

As you transition into the second phase, parrying becomes even more crucial. You can now parry all attacks except the grab, conserving your Stamina while dealing damage. Maintain relentless pressure to force Yetuga into its next phase, signaled by a roar and a power-up. At this point, increase your distance.
Yetuga will grab a giant rock to smash at you, so time your dodge or parry perfectly. It will also deploy a frost breath that generates ice spikes; either move out of the way or parry the incoming attack. Exploit openings to use Potent Attacks, and when Yetuga shows signs of exhaustion, unleash a Brutal Attack for significant damage. With persistence, Yetuga will soon fall.
Upon defeating Yetuga, you'll be rewarded with 4,800 Lacrima, along with Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve.
