Unraveling the Mystery of "Bad Blood" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers a wealth of side quests, many enriching the game's narrative and character development. This guide details how to initiate and complete the "Bad Blood" quest.
Starting the Quest:
After gaining open-world access in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, progress through the quest involving Mutt. This leads you to a clearing near Bozhena's hut. Speaking with Bozhena about Mutt reveals her missing daughter, Pavlena. Agreeing to help her unlocks the "Bad Blood" quest.
Gathering Information:
-
Troskowitz Investigation: Speak with Bailiff Thrush and Innkeeper Betty in Troskowitz to gather information about Bozhena and Pavlena, uncovering the reasons for their ostracization from the village.
-
Woodcutter's Clues: Interview Woodcutter Dushko, leading you to Roman's house. (Note: Lockpicking is required. Save beforehand!)
-
Roman's House: Search Roman's house, examining Pavlena's basket. Return to Dushko for further leads, directing you to a clearing near Roman's house.
-
The Clearing: Follow the blood trail to discover Roman's body. Speak with Hogherd Hugo and Hired Hand Straw (requires a successful dialogue check). Straw's testimony reveals Jakesh's involvement. You can also speak with Thrush to decide how to handle Straw.
-
Zhelejov Investigation: Continue the investigation at the rocks south of Zhelejov.
Confronting Ota:
Navigate the large boulder to find a hidden path and ladder leading to Ota and Pavlena. High Charisma is beneficial for dialogue checks. The following options persuade Ota to release Pavlena:
- "What's your name?"
- "Let her go and I'll let you go."
- "I'll put in a good word for you with His Lordship."
Pavlena subsequently kills Ota. Return to Bozhena with Pavlena.
Choosing Your Path: Kill Jakesh or Make Peace?
The quest culminates in a choice: kill Jakesh or broker peace. Find Jakesh at his child's grave. Killing him lowers your reputation in Troskowitz but raises it with Bozhena and Pavlena, unlocking a new dialogue option with Pavlena and rewarding you with Roman's gift. Choosing peace results in a 100 groschen reward from Jakesh (which you can keep or share with Bozhena), and Bozhena and Pavlena are reinstated in the village. You can also kill Bozhena to end the quest.
Consequences of Your Actions:
Killing Jakesh negatively impacts your Troskowitz reputation but significantly improves your standing with Bozhena and Pavlena. Sparing Jakesh offers a financial reward and restores Bozhena and Pavlena to the community. The choice is yours, shaping the narrative's outcome.
