In the highly anticipated cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, fans of From Software's signature poisonous swamps will be disappointed to learn that these iconic areas will not be featured. This surprising revelation comes directly from Yasuhiro Kitao, the project’s product manager, during a recent discussion with journalists. Although a swamp-like location was showcased in the game's trailer, Kitao clarified that it represents an entirely different setting.
The absence of these notorious swamps is attributed to the lack of involvement from Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is famously known for his affinity towards swamp environments. Miyazaki's influence has brought these challenging terrains into the spotlight in previous titles like *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series. However, due to his non-involvement in *Elden Ring Nightreign*, these areas will not be part of the game's world.

On a brighter note, there's potential good news for those interested in multiplayer options. While *Elden Ring Nightreign* has so far been announced with single-player and three-player modes, there's a possibility that a two-player mode might be added. Initially excluded due to content balancing challenges, From Software is currently considering the inclusion of this feature. However, no final decision has been made yet, leaving fans hopeful but waiting for further updates.
Mark your calendars: *Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC and two generations of consoles. Stay tuned for more details as the release date approaches.
