April is packed with thrilling updates for Marvel Contest of Champions (MCOC), featuring the arrival of the captivating new champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, fans can look forward to another intriguing character with a starkly different aura.
Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions
Spider-Woman, born as Jessica Drew, faced a challenging childhood when she was exposed to uranium near her home, leading to severe illness. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her life by injecting her with a unique blend of spider DNA. After a long recovery period, Jessica not only overcame the adverse effects of the experiment but also gained remarkable spider-like powers, transforming her into Spider-Woman. Players can recruit this new champion in MCOC starting from April 17th.
Before Spider-Woman makes her debut, another champion, Lumatrix, will join the fray on April 9th. Known as one of the most lethal assassins crafted by the Founders, Lumatrix specializes in stealthy infiltration and elimination, utilizing dazzling light-based abilities.
What Else Is New?
On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," unfolds with Carina suffering severe injuries after an encounter with Ouroborus forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom aligns with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption of Chronoserpent. A new villain, Lotan, also emerges on the scene.
An exciting Event Quest called "Spy Games" kicks off on April 9th and runs until May 7th. Black Widow delves into the enigma of the Eidols, enlisting Spider-Woman's help to unravel the mystery.
Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest "Dark Bounties," placing bounties on various Champions. Players must track them down to claim their rewards.
The Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector makes a comeback, challenging players to assemble their strongest Saga champions to battle for Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
