How to Obtain Frenzy Shards and Crystals in Monster Hunter Wilds

Even after you've rolled credits in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, the adventure continues with the High Rank content. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to get and use Frenzy Shards and Crystals in *Monster Hunter Wilds*.

Getting Frenzy Shards in Monster Hunter Wilds

Frenzy Shards are crucial for crafting in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, and you can obtain them by defeating Frenzied monsters. These monsters, infected with the Frenzy Virus, start appearing during High Rank missions. Don't be fooled by their familiar appearance; Frenzied monsters are significantly more aggressive and deal increased damage, posing a formidable challenge. Upon successfully killing or capturing a Frenzied monster, you'll be rewarded with Frenzy Shards, which you can then use to forge new weapons and armor.

Getting Frenzy Crystals in Monster Hunter Wilds

Frenzy Crystals are another essential crafting material, but they're exclusive to Gore Magala. To obtain these crystals, you need to wound Gore Magala and destroy those wounds, which gives you a chance to collect Frenzy Crystals. You'll encounter Gore Magala once you progress into High Rank quests and unlock the optional quest titled "Misty Depths."

How to Use Frenzy Shards and Crystals

Using Frenzy Shards is straightforward, much like any other crafting material in the game. Visit Base Camp and speak with Gemma to start crafting new gear. Here's a list of gear that requires Frenzy Shards:

How to Find Frenzied Monsters

Frenzied monsters are prevalent in High Rank optional quests. However, not all monsters are affected by the Frenzy Virus. The following monsters do not have the Frenzy Virus:

  • Zoh
  • Shia
  • Arkveld
  • Gore Magala

Interestingly, Gore Magala, the source of the Virus, can still be farmed for Frenzy Crystals.

That's the complete guide on how to farm Frenzy Shards and Crystals in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and detailed information on the game, be sure to check out The Escapist.
