Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Launches Open Arena Mode Testing

Unfrozen has recently unveiled an exciting gameplay trailer for Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, providing fans with a detailed look at the game's core mechanics, units, and overall gameplay dynamics. This trailer marks a significant step forward in the anticipation of this strategy game. In conjunction with the trailer's release, Unfrozen has opened registrations for the closed beta test of the new "Arena" mode. Eager players can request access through the game's Steam page, with the testing phase set to run from March 17 to March 28.

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is slated to launch into early access on Steam in the second quarter of 2025. Upon its release, the game will boast an impressive lineup featuring six distinct factions, three engaging single-player modes, and three competitive multiplayer modes. Ubisoft, taking on the role of publisher, is set to bring this eagerly awaited title to the gaming community.

In a recent update, the developers introduced the Dungeon faction to the game, which includes a variety of units such as troglodytes, dark elves, minotaurs, medusas, hydras, and dragons. These additions are designed to enhance the strategic depth and bring unique dynamics to the battlefield, offering players new challenges and opportunities to master.

The team at Unfrozen shared insights into the challenges they encountered while developing the Arena mode, particularly around balancing the skills and heroes within the limited space and lack of starting advantages. Despite these hurdles, they have successfully addressed these issues, ensuring that the Arena mode will provide a smooth and engaging experience for players.

While Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is expected to hit the PC market later this year, a precise release date is still pending. The developers are meticulously crafting the game to cater to both long-time fans of the series and newcomers, aiming to offer a rich and accessible strategic experience for all.
