Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 Leak: Free 4-Star Character Selector Revealed

Summary

  • According to a leak, Version 3.1 of Honkai: Star Rail will offer a free 4-star character selector with four units to choose from.
  • The new leak suggests players can select from Qingque, Pela, Serval, or Asta as part of a limited-time event.
  • Honkai: Star Rail has released more 5-star characters, leading to fewer 4-star unit additions.

A new leak for Honkai: Star Rail has unveiled that Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector, likely tied to a limited-time event. As Honkai: Star Rail gears up for its 3.0 cycle, players can anticipate a variety of new gameplay features and characters.

Currently, there are 23 4-star characters in Honkai: Star Rail. While most don't rank highly in the meta, certain units can still be valuable in various team compositions. Recent additions like Moze and Gallagher have gained popularity due to their versatility. However, to maximize their potential, 4-star characters often require higher Eidolon levels. In previous updates, such as Versions 2.1 and 2.7, Honkai: Star Rail provided opportunities to easily obtain these Eidolons through free character selectors. Now, a new leak for Version 3.1 hints at the return of this event, offering players a choice between four units.

Prominent community leaker HomDGCat has reported that a new free 4-star character selector will be introduced in Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1. According to the leak, players will have the option to choose from Qingque, Pela, Serval, and Asta. The event is expected to be time-limited, similar to previous patches. All characters available in the selector were introduced during the 1.0 cycle, with Asta being provided to players early in the game for free. Earlier rumors suggested that all future Honkai: Star Rail characters would be 5-stars, reinforcing the idea that Amphoreus may not release any new 4-star units in the near future.

Honkai: Star Rail Leak Teases New 4-Star Character Selector in Version 3.1

  • Qingque: Quantum, Erudition
  • Pela: Ice, Nihility
  • Serval: Lightning, Erudition
  • Asta: Fire, Harmony

While Pela and Asta have maintained their status as decent supports since their launch, Qingque and Serval have been outclassed by newer DPS characters. Additionally, all these units are available for purchase in the in-game store. Since the Penacony update, players have noticed a trend of Honkai: Star Rail favoring 5-star releases over 4-stars. With nearly 40 five-star characters in the game, the disparity between the two tiers is significant. Eight more 5-star characters are expected to debut with Amphoreus, and a rumored crossover with Fate/Stay Night might add two more.

During the 2.0 cycle, Honkai: Star Rail introduced only four new 4-star characters, including March 7th's alternate form. It remains to be seen if Amphoreus will continue this trend, but if the leaks prove accurate, future 4-star character selectors might struggle to offer new units. Nevertheless, players should be excited about the upcoming Version 3.0, which will introduce the much-anticipated The Herta and Aglaea. To prepare for these updates, Honkai: Star Rail has recently released new redeem codes for free Stellar Jades and materials, helping players accumulate pulls.
