Marvel Rivals Dev Commits to New Hero Every 6 Weeks

Author : Aaron May 19,2025

NetEase Games has exciting news for Marvel Rivals players: a new hero will be introduced every month and a half with the rollout of additional seasons. In an interview with Metro, the studio's creative director, Guangyun Chen, outlined the team's ambitious post-launch strategy. Chen confidently stated that a new playable character will be released every half-season, translating to at least one new hero every six weeks.

"Each season, we're committed to bringing fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes," Chen explained. "We're dividing each season into two halves. A season lasts three months, and we'll introduce a new hero in each half. Our goal is to continuously enhance the player experience and keep our community buzzing with excitement."

As each season concludes, fans are left eagerly anticipating the next hero reveal. Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls set a high bar by introducing Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in its first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second half. These iconic characters have firmly established themselves as legendary figures in the Marvel universe, but maintaining this level of excitement over time will be a significant challenge for NetEase.

The game launched with an impressive roster featuring heroes like Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm. However, the potential for expansion is vast, with rumors of characters like Blade possibly joining in Season 2. Fans are also hoping to see favorites such as Daredevil, Deadpool, and other X-Men members. With the success Marvel Rivals has enjoyed so far, NetEase shows no signs of slowing down its hero introductions.

In addition to new heroes, Marvel Rivals Season 1 brought a series of balance changes and gameplay tweaks, with more updates promised in the future. For the latest on this popular hero shooter, check out how some players are using the Invisible Woman to tackle an alleged bot problem, dive into the Hero Hot List, and learn why some players are risking bans by using mods.
