Stun the Monster
Ebony Odogaron's speed can be overwhelming, making it essential to find ways to slow it down. A strategic approach is to stun the monster, which can be achieved by triggering a nearby Flashfly. Additionally, crafting and using Flash Pods can help immobilize it, giving you crucial moments to attack or reposition.
Bring Teammates
Facing Ebony Odogaron alone can be daunting due to its relentless attacks. To enhance your chances of success, consider bringing teammates. Send out SOS signals to rally other players for help. If no players respond, NPCs can serve as effective distractions, allowing you to focus on dodging until the monster targets them instead.
Pull Down Entangled Rocks
During the battle, you'll encounter areas with Entangled Rocks overhead. Using your slinger to pull these down can stun Ebony Odogaron for several seconds, providing a valuable window for attack. Remember, this tactic can only be used once per fight. Additionally, Pitfall and Shock Traps can be crafted to immobilize the creature twice more.
Beware of Dragonblight
Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, a status effect that hampers your ability to deal elemental or status damage. To counteract this, carry Nulberries to remove the blight or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to mitigate its effects.
Inflict Paralysis
Inflicting Paralysis on Ebony Odogaron can drastically simplify the fight by temporarily immobilizing the monster. If you manage to knock it down near roots, it may become further entangled, extending your window to deal damage.
Aim for the Head
The head of Ebony Odogaron is its most vulnerable spot, boasting a 3-star weakness. Targeting this area maximizes your damage output, though it places you at greater risk. If you prefer a safer approach, aim for the forelegs and tail, which, while less damaging, can still lead to breaking its limbs.

To capture Ebony Odogaron, deploy a Pitfall or Shock Trap when its health is reduced to 20 percent or less. Ensure the monster is sufficiently weakened; otherwise, the tranquilizer won't be effective, and it will soon break free, forcing you to continue the battle.
