"We Are Muesli Unveils Mobile Narrative Game

Indie studio We Are Muesli has unveiled their latest project, a narrative game titled "In Their Shoes," slated for release in 2026 on both mobile and PC platforms. The game has already garnered attention, securing a nomination for the 'A MAZE. 2025' awards in Berlin, a prestigious event celebrating independent and arthouse games.

In Their Shoes Is a Narrative Game that’s More About Listening

Set against the backdrop of present-day Milan, a city known for its contradictions, "In Their Shoes" allows players to immerse themselves in the lives of seven distinct characters. The game is structured around 49 short interactive stories, each known as a Moment, offering a snapshot into the daily lives of these characters.

Each Moment is designed to let players experience the nuanced hesitations, routines, and split-second decisions that define the characters. Some stories unfold at a leisurely pace, giving players time to absorb the characters' thoughts, while others demand quick reactions, closely mimicking real-life scenarios.

Unlike typical narrative games, "In Their Shoes" presents a less structured narrative. Players will piece together the fragmented stories to uncover 26 hidden biographical details about each character, embodying the essence of slice-of-life storytelling.

While the Play Store page is yet to go live, the game's Steam page is already up and running. To get a feel of what "In Their Shoes" offers, you can watch the announcement trailer below.
