Netflix has officially teamed up with the creators of the critically acclaimed game *Sifu* to transform its compelling story into a cinematic masterpiece. Announced back in 2022, the film adaptation was initially in the hands of Story Kitchen and Sloclap, the game's developer. However, recent updates from Deadline reveal that the production team has undergone a significant expansion.

Netflix has enlisted T.S. Nowlin, the creative mind behind the Maze Runner series and Netflix's *Project Adam*, to write the screenplay. Although Derek Kolstad, who was previously involved in adapting *Sifu*'s story, might still contribute, his exact role in the project is currently uncertain.
The production team is further bolstered by the addition of Chad Stahelski, the acclaimed director of the *John Wick* series, along with his production company, 87Eleven Entertainment, who will serve as executive producers. Stahelski is also currently engaged in another major video game adaptation, *Ghost of Tsushima*.
*Sifu*, which hit the market in 2022, swiftly captured the gaming world's attention, selling over one million copies in just three weeks. The game follows the journey of a young martial artist on a quest for vengeance following their master's murder. Equipped with a mystical pendant that revives them after death but ages them significantly, the protagonist navigates a perilous world filled with danger and intrigue.
