In PoE 2, while players can freely equip gear, Skills, and Passive Skills (as long as they meet the requirements), Classes form the foundation of your build. Each Class starts on a different part of the Passive Skill Tree, guiding players towards passives that complement their archetype.Path of Exile 2 plans to have 12 Classes, with six currently available in Early Access. The Ascendancy system is already implemented, offering each Class a choice between powerful, permanent Skill Trees that enhance the normal Passive Skill Tree.

Upon its full release from Early Access, Path of Exile 2 will feature six Acts in its campaign and an endgame that begins after beating Act 6.
