In the clip, Peacemaker is declared "a superhero now," setting the stage for thrilling developments in the upcoming season.
Gunn expressed his enthusiasm on Twitter, stating that the Season 2 premiere is "one of my favorite things ever." He also mentioned that he recently completed the DI & Mix on the season premiere, further heightening anticipation for what's to come.

Peacemaker Season 2 will follow the release of Superman on July 11, marking the cinematic kickoff for Gunn's rebooted DCU. This makes Peacemaker Season 2 the third entry in the new DCU, following last year's Creature Commandos TV series and the upcoming Superman movie.
Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran are steering the DCU away from the previous DC Extended Universe, which included films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. However, some elements from the old universe will continue into the new, with Peacemaker serving as a prime example. While Season 1 was part of the DCEU, Season 2 will be integrated into the new DCU.
Gunn has hinted that "many strands will remain consistent as far as Peacemaker's story goes," though specifics about what will carry over from the DCEU to the DCU remain undisclosed. What is confirmed is the return of the entire Team Peacemaker with the same actors, including John Cena as Peacemaker, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, and Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo.
Furthermore, Gunn has stated that Peacemaker Season 2 will be set after the events of both Creature Commandos and Superman, with the latter's events directly impacting Peacemaker's storyline.
