What to Expect from the PlayStation State of Play 2025
Beyond confirming “news and updates on must-play games coming to PS5” from creators worldwide, Sony has revealed nothing about which titles will appear. Still, by reviewing the upcoming PS5 lineup, we can make educated guesses about the big names likely to be featured.
In 2025, PS5 players have an exciting lineup ahead, including Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, ARC Raiders, Ghost of Yōtei, Hell Is Us, Lost Soul Aside, Ninja Gaiden 4, Little Nightmares III, Where Winds Meet, Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, Borderlands 4, Directive 8020, Forever Skies, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, MindsEye, Mafia: The Old Country, and many others.
There’s also room for surprises—new titles could emerge, or lesser-known games might make a comeback, such as Insomniac’s Wolverine game, the next chapter from Sony Santa Monica’s God of War team, Bend Studio’s follow-up to Days Gone, Guerrilla Games’ next Horizon title, and possibly the third act of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Anything is possible, but it’s wise to manage your expectations. While you wait, revisit our recap of February’s State of Play, which revealed Housemarque’s Saros, confirmed release dates for Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and Borderlands 4, showcased the protagonist of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and more. For additional coverage, explore everything coming this Summer of Gaming and all the details on IGN Live, launching June 7!
