Tuxedo Labs has exciting news for fans of their acclaimed sandbox game, Teardown. They've announced the introduction of a multiplayer mode, fulfilling a long-standing wish from the community. Alongside this, they're launching the Folkrace DLC, which promises to enrich the single-player experience with new maps, vehicles, and thrilling racing challenges. Players will have the opportunity to compete in various events, earn rewards, and personalize their vehicles to conquer the tracks.
The multiplayer mode will initially be available on Steam’s Experimental Branch, allowing eager players to dive in early and provide feedback. Tuxedo Labs is particularly keen on hearing from the modding community, as they plan to update the game’s API. This update will enable modders to adapt their creations for multiplayer, ensuring a seamless transition and integration.
The developers have shared that multiplayer has been a goal since the game's inception and reflects a highly requested feature from fans. This announcement signifies the realization of that vision. At launch, players can access the multiplayer mode through the "Experimental" branch on Steam. Concurrently, the team will roll out API updates to support modders in making their existing mods compatible with multiplayer environments. Once the testing phase concludes, multiplayer will become an integral part of Teardown.
Looking to the future, Tuxedo Labs has also teased that two more major DLCs are in development, with more details to be revealed later in 2025. This continued support and expansion of Teardown demonstrate the team's commitment to enhancing the gaming experience for their dedicated player base.
