After Yasuke hears rumors of “worse men” from his past being active in Japan, the Yasuke’s Past quests will require players to complete the Templar Hunt Objective Board. Here’s how and where to find every Templar target in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, starting with Kimura Kei.

How to Find the Templar Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Your first clue to locating Kimura Kei comes from a ronin contact in Kii. You can find him in central Nakahechi Route at the inn in Takahara Village. If you're having trouble pinpointing his exact location, consider using Scouts to help narrow it down. Look for the building marked with green flags next to a cherry blossom tree. Inside, you'll meet a ronin dressed in Oda Clan attire. Engage him in conversation, and he will direct you to a recruiter named Kumabe Ujiie.

Where to Find Kumabe Ujiie

Kumabe Ujiie is located in the northern part of Kii, specifically at a cemetery in Koyasan, northeast of the Kongobuji Temple. You'll find him walking with an escort of ronin, but there's no need to engage them. Approach Kumabe Ujiie and choose the “I seek guidance” dialogue option. Follow him, and he will eventually reveal Kimura Kei's location.

How and Where to Assassinate Kimura Kei

Kimura Kei's Training Grounds are situated in the southwest portion of Kii, just north of the shore, roughly halfway between Sazae Oni Shores and Nakahechi Route. Upon arrival, follow the other students to reach Kimura Kei. He will recognize Yasuke and order his students to attack.

You'll find yourself surrounded by attacking ronin. After defeating them, more will come as you advance toward Kimura Kei. Equip your highest-level armor and weapons to handle the onslaught. Exploding red barrels scattered along the path can be shot with your bow or teppo to take out groups of enemies efficiently.

The confrontation with Kimura Kei triggers a multi-phase boss fight, and stealth assassination is not an option. Equip armor with an engraving that allows you to parry unblockable attacks, as Kimura Kei will use many of them.

In the first phase, Kimura Kei wields a standard Katana. Parry his attacks to make him vulnerable, then use posture attacks and abilities to break his armor. As his armor nears breaking, he switches to a Long Katana and a standard Katana, increasing his use of unblockable attacks. Focus on dodging and striking between his attacks.

When Kimura Kei's health drops to about half, the fight moves outside. Here, he unleashes extremely high-damage unblockable attacks with both Katana. Dodge frequently and keep your distance when necessary. Using a bow or teppo to attack from a distance can be highly effective.

Every Reward for Killing Kimura Kei in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Defeating Kimura Kei grants you 3,000 XP, some Mon, and the Templar-themed Destroyer Samurai Armor and Helmet. The armor features an engraving that reduces the impact of enemy attacks, while the helmet boosts Yasuke's damage by 10% for every 10% of his health missing.

How to Find the Silver Queen in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

After defeating the Shinbakufu, the Silver Queen appears on the Templar Board, aiding the Portuguese in their pillaging of Tamba. To reach her, you'll need to speak with several contacts, starting with a spy.

Where to Find and Talk to The Spy

The spy Yasuke needs to consult is located in Southeast Tamba in the Silver Lands. Upon entering the investigation area, you'll find him sitting on a rug under a small structure next to a wooden cart and crates. He will provide the Silver Queen's location after your conversation.

Where to Meet the Silver Queen

The Silver Queen can be found in the town of Tada, just northeast of the Tada Kakurega. She will be conversing with Portuguese soldiers. Approach and speak with her, then follow her to her house for tea. You'll wake up in the Tada Silver Mine.

How to Escape from Tada Silver Mine

Upon waking from the drugged tea, you'll find yourself in a locked room within Tada Silver Mine. Sprint into the door to break it open. After dealing with the guards, you can either fight or sneak your way out. Sneaking is the most efficient and time-saving option. Head southwest out of the mine, eliminating any enemies in your path.

How to Locate Akechi Mitsuyoshi

The Silver Queen requires Yasuke to help rescue her brother, Akechi Mitsuyoshi, in exchange for information on Yasuke’s true target. After escaping Tada Silver Mine, head north toward Kameyama Castle. If you need to restock on Ammo or Rations, there's a Kakurega just north of Senneji Temple in Kameyama.

Activate Pathfinder and navigate through Kameyama Castle, eliminating guards as you follow the suggested path. You'll encounter a bleeding servant in the living quarters who will give you a key to the castle’s Tenshu.

How to Free Akechi Mitsuyoshi and Retrieve His Katana

With the key to the castle’s Tenshu in hand, enter the main castle building beneath the Viewpoint and interact with the marked door to reach Akechi Mitsuyoshi. Follow him as he escapes, using your bow or teppo to take out distant enemies. After freeing him, return to the castle to retrieve his Katana from Baltazar, who is surrounded by soldiers. It's best to eliminate the soldiers first and then face Baltazar one-on-one. Use abilities and posture attacks to break his guard and deal vulnerable damage quickly.

Once Baltazar is defeated and Akechi Mitsuyoshi's Katana is retrieved, head north to Atago Shrine. There, talk to Akechi Mitsuyoshi and follow him to the Shrine to receive the next target’s location.

How to Find and Assassinate Nuno Caro

Yasuke’s ultimate target, Nuno Caro, is preparing to leave Japan and can be found in Western Tamba at Takeda Castle. This castle is perched high atop a mountain at the end of a winding road, so activate Pathfinder for the most direct route.

Takeda Castle is heavily guarded with enemies and alarm bells that can alert others to your presence. Since stealth is less viable for Yasuke, disable the alarm bells with your bow or teppo. As you ascend, you'll reach a set of double doors that lead to Nuno Caro.

Eliminate Nuno Caro’s men as you climb the castle to reach him. At the top, Nuno Caro triggers a boss fight. He fights similarly to his soldiers, using a sword and a pistol. His main sword attack is a combo of up to four swipes, which you can block or parry. When his pistol glows red, dodge to avoid its shot. Use Abilities to deal high damage and make him vulnerable, then attack in a cycle until he is defeated. Upon killing Nuno Caro, the Templar Hunt Objective Board will be complete.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available from March 20th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
