Unlock the Seas: Divinity: Original Sin 2's Ship Unlocks Secret

Author : Mila Feb 02,2025

This guide details how to get the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance, sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.

Quick Links

The Lady Vengeance's controls are unconventional; you must discover a unique method to set sail. Explore the ship, talk to NPCs, and gather clues. The key is accessing Magister Dallis' cabin and acquiring the Ancient Empire Songbook.

Investigate Dead Bodies

Begin by searching the bodies of the magisters and ghosts on deck. A Sodden Diary on one corpse reveals a password for a stateroom door. You can also potentially obtain the password via a skill check with the northern stateroom door. Crucially, you'll also need a Strange Gem, found later. A magic mirror near the stateroom doors allows for respeccing characters.

Find the Portside Stateroom

Use the password from the diary (or skill check) and the Strange Gem (obtained from Bishop Alexander's regalia after interacting with him) to access the Portside Stateroom.

Find the Songbook

Inside Magister Dallis' cabin, speak with Tarquin and Dallis. The Ancient Empire Songbook is located on a pedestal in the cabin. Reading it reveals the song needed to start the ship. It's advisable to speak with all NPCs before moving the ship, as opportunities will be lost once underway.

Set Sail

Return to the deck and tell Malady about the songbook. She'll ask you to sing to the ship. Find the dragon figurine to the west of the deck and choose the option to sing. Lady Vengeance will begin sailing, but be prepared for an immediate ambush from powerful magisters. Ensure your party is well-equipped and has sufficient companions.
