New EA Sports UFC 5 Update Adds Undefeated Fighter

EA Sports UFC 5 receives a significant update on January 9th, launching at 1 PM ET for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This patch (1.18) introduces undefeated fighter Azamat Murzakanov and addresses several bugs.

EA Vancouver, the game's developer, continues to enhance EA Sports UFC 5, demonstrating commitment despite earlier criticism regarding the initial roster. The game has since achieved 98% parity with the current UFC top ten rankings through consistent updates.

This January 9th update adds Murzakanov to the Light Heavyweight division. His impressive stats include a 97 power punch rating, 95 accuracy, and 94 ground striking. In addition to Murzakanov, three new fighter alter egos are included, though their identities remain undisclosed.

Beyond the new fighter and alter egos, patch 1.18 includes minor bug fixes and a gameplay adjustment: the stamina cost of the muscle modifier is reduced from x3.125 to 2.5. Specific bug fixes include correcting incorrect translations in multiple languages, resolving a Ranked Championship Stand and Bang issue (match result display), and updating Stipe and Jones portraits in AE UFC 309 to reflect glove updates.

Furthermore, Microsoft announced that EA Sports UFC 5 will be added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play on January 14th. This is a significant addition to the Ultimate tier, alongside other titles.
