Every Marvel TV Show in the Disney+ Era Ranked

Author : Harper Mar 21,2025

From the iconic *Incredible Hulk* TV series to the popular *Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.*, and the gritty Netflix shows introducing Daredevil and Luke Cage, Marvel Comics has a rich history of inspiring small-screen adaptations. While past attempts to connect these shows to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) sometimes faltered—remember *Runaways* and *Cloak and Dagger*? — 2021 marked a turning point. Marvel Studios launched a new era on Disney+, creating interconnected series deeply woven into the billion-dollar film franchise.

With the delightful *Spider-Man: Freshman Year* arriving as the 13th Disney+ Marvel show in just four years, we're taking a look back at the preceding Marvel Studios television offerings. Like the Avengers enjoying shawarma after the Battle of New York, the IGN Marvel experts have assembled to rank all 12 Disney+ Marvel shows, culminating in an aggregate ranking. Stay tuned for *Spider-Man: Freshman Year*'s inclusion after the series concludes.

12. Secret Invasion

Disney+
It's surprising to rank Secret Invasion so low, a near-unanimous decision reflecting its shortcomings. While the comic book source material is monumental, the series failed to capture its essence. Director Ali Selim's admission of not reading the comics highlights a disconnect. While creative vision can enhance stories, Secret Invasion lacked the necessary impact.

Aiming for the espionage tone of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the show follows Nick Fury battling a Skrull invasion. However, slow pacing, an AI-generated opening, the unfortunate death of a beloved character, and a forgettable new superhero contribute to its low ranking among MCU Disney+ series.

11. Echo

Disney+
A significant improvement over Secret Invasion, Echo still lands at 11th. Alaqua Cox reprises her role from Hawkeye, delivering an intimate action story as Echo returns to her reservation, balancing her powers, past, and relationship with Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio).

Like other later Marvel shows, Echo's shortened run left some viewers wanting more. Despite this, the series boasts impressive action sequences, including a standout fight with Matt Murdock. Its groundbreaking predominantly Indigenous cast both on and off-screen is commendable. While not as impactful as others, it offers a unique and emotionally resonant addition to the MCU.

10. Moon Knight

Disney+
The Oscar Isaac-led Moon Knight might surprise some at this ranking. The series' exploration of Marc Spector's multiple personalities, blending mystery and action, incorporates elements of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Indiana Jones, and even Fox's Legion.

Like many Marvel shows, Moon Knight introduces a new hero, Scarlet Scarab (May Calamawy), who becomes a standout. With strong performances from F. Murray Abraham (Khonshu) and Ethan Hawke (Dr. Arthur Harrow), the series unfortunately couldn't reach higher in our rankings or secure a second season.

9. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Disney+
Despite high expectations, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier struggled to take flight. Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan's chemistry is a highlight, but murky morals, reliance on the Blip timeline, and a focus on espionage over action hindered the show.

As the second Disney+ Marvel series, it was initially slated for the debut slot before the pandemic shifted the release schedule. The production delays undoubtedly impacted the final product. Nevertheless, narrative elements from this series are crucial to understanding the current MCU, notably impacting this year's Thunderbolts film.
