The much-anticipated release date for Among Us 3D has been officially revealed, marking an exciting milestone for fans of the franchise. Developed by Schell Games and published by Innersloth, this new installment was initially titled Among Us VR but has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to cater to a wider audience through its cross-play multiplayer capabilities.

Announced via the game's official Twitter (X) account on April 16, Among Us 3D introduces a host of new elements to the beloved series. One of the standout features is the new currency, Stardust, designed to offer players greater flexibility in their in-game purchases, as it never expires. Additionally, the game boasts a permanent Tag Mode that introduces the Infected role, enhancing the strategic depth of gameplay. Players can look forward to native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, new and returning mini-games, and an array of fresh cosmetics to personalize their characters.

It's important to clarify that Among Us 3D is a separate entity from the original Among Us VR, which was released in 2022. Schell Games has emphasized that this separation allows them to deliver quality updates to Among Us VR players while crafting a unique experience for Among Us 3D on PC. As stated on their website's FAQs, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."

Schell Games has launched the Powered By Wishlists Challenge, a campaign where players can unlock exclusive in-game rewards by reaching specific wishlist milestones.
