Author : Layla May 18,2025

Introducing Alexa+, the latest evolution in voice assistants, now available in early access. Powered by generative AI, Alexa+ promises a more natural, conversational experience compared to the standard Alexa. Amazon describes it as "more conversational, smarter, personalized – and she helps you get things done." This upgrade is currently accessible only on select Echo Show devices, including the Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21. If you own one of these devices or are considering purchasing one, you can sign up for early access notifications through the link provided below. After the early access phase, Alexa+ will be offered as a complimentary benefit for Amazon Prime members or available for a monthly fee of $19.99 for non-Prime users.

With its conversational approach, Alexa+ is designed to handle a wide array of tasks effortlessly. Whether it's managing your to-do list, retrieving specific calendar details, or making restaurant reservations, Alexa+ is there to assist. Amazon's Early Access page for Alexa+ hints at ongoing enhancements, with new features being added regularly, promising even more capabilities post the early access period.

It's worth noting that not all devices are compatible with Alexa+. Older generation Echo devices, such as the Echo Dot 1st Gen, Echo 1st Gen, Echo Plus 1st Gen, Amazon Tap, Echo Show 1st Gen, Echo Show 2nd Gen, and Echo Spot 1st Gen, will continue to operate with the original Alexa. However, Amazon has plans to expand Alexa+ compatibility to include Fire TV, Fire tablets, and Alexa.com in the near future.
