Ubisoft has officially announced the global release times for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, marking a significant shift from previous releases in the series and other Ubisoft titles. Unlike its predecessors, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will not offer early access for a premium; everyone gets to dive into the game at the same time. The release date is set for March 20 at 12am local time for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S players. However, PC players should note that release times differ depending on whether you're purchasing through Steam or Ubisoft’s own platform, Ubi Connect. Pre-loading is already available across all platforms including Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
The anticipation for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is palpable, especially given Ubisoft's recent challenges. Following delays and the underwhelming sales of last year's Star Wars Outlaws, the gaming giant is under pressure to deliver a hit. Ubisoft has faced a series of setbacks including high-profile flops, layoffs, studio closures, and game cancellations leading up to this release. Nevertheless, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has received a promising 8/10 from IGN, with our review stating: “By sharpening the edges of its existing systems, Assassin’s Creed Shadows creates one of the best versions of the open-world style it’s been honing for the last decade.”
