Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down
The global version of the mobile RPG, Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, will cease operations on March 28th, 2025. This announcement comes from Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games, just over a year after the game's global launch in January 2024. The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, will continue operation. This creates a stark contrast, as the Japanese server will be celebrating its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025, the same month the global server shuts down.
End of Service (EOS) Date: March 28th, 2025
In-game purchases are already disabled, but players can still utilize any remaining Lodestar Gems until the game's closure. Developers promise additional content and events leading up to the shutdown. The global version's first anniversary was celebrated on January 25th, 2025, making the announcement even more poignant.
Reasons for Closure:
The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the primary reason for the global server's closure. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing about the gacha system and monetization model almost immediately after launch. Issues with gameplay and excessive power creep further contributed to the game's decline.
While the core characters received positive feedback, the overall experience failed to resonate with the player base, ultimately leading to the decision to end service. Players can still access the game on the Google Play Store to experience any remaining content before the server closes.
