Finnish game developer Supercell has resurrected its cancelled RPG, Clash Heroes, in a surprising twist. Instead of a simple relaunch, the game is reborn as Project R.I.S.E., a social action RPG roguelite.
The Full Story
Supercell officially confirmed the cancellation of Clash Heroes, echoing the fate of Clash Mini. However, the studio revealed Project R.I.S.E. as a multiplayer-focused action RPG, retaining the Clash universe setting.
Game lead Julien Le Cadre confirmed Clash Heroes' demise in a recent announcement video, but emphasized Project R.I.S.E.'s multiplayer action RPG nature.
For more details, watch the announcement video:
Project R.I.S.E. shares a spiritual connection with Clash Heroes but is a completely new game. It features three-player co-op gameplay where players ascend The Tower, facing different challenges on each floor. Unlike its predecessor's PvE focus, Project R.I.S.E. emphasizes teamwork and diverse character usage.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Registration is open on the official website.
