Expelled! challenges you to clear your name by catching the culprit or framing someone else

Author : Jonathan Apr 06,2025

At Miss Mulligatawney's School for Promising Girls, a shocking incident has occurred: a school prefect has been pushed out of a window, and you're the one everyone is pointing fingers at. Dive into the gripping world of Expelled!, the latest mystery game from inkle, the masterminds behind Overboard!. You have just one day to clear your name or cleverly shift the blame onto someone else.

Set in the spring of April 1922, Expelled! puts you in the shoes of Verity Amersham, a scholarship student at an elite boarding school. Voiced by the talented Amelia Tyler, known for her role in Baldur's Gate 3, Verity has always tried to keep her head down. But now, accused of attempted murder, she must navigate a web of intrigue to save herself.

In Expelled!, your choices are more than just dialogue options. Every action you take, every place you visit, every person you interact with, and every word you speak shapes the narrative. The non-player characters (NPCs) move around the school in real-time, responding to your actions and the environment. Some may offer assistance, while others could be plotting your downfall. The question remains: who can you really trust?

Your journey to clear your name isn't straightforward. You can choose to solve the mystery through investigation, or you might opt to lie, mislead, or manipulate your way to safety. Need an alibi? Persuade someone to vouch for you. Feeling cornered? Perhaps you'll pin the blame on another. The more you bend the rules, the more paths open up for you.

Each playthrough of Expelled! lasts approximately 30-45 minutes, yet no two experiences will be the same. Your decisions lead to new clues, different endings, and uncover hidden secrets scattered throughout the school. Discover why the cellar is off-limits or what your best friend is concealing. If you manage to avoid expulsion, you might even strive for the prestigious position of Head Girl.

Expelled! is set to launch on March 12th, available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and iOS.
