Master Chief Returns to Fortnite! A Guide to Acquiring the Legendary Spartan

The legendary Master Chief from the Halo franchise has returned to the Fortnite Item Shop! This highly anticipated comeback offers players the chance to don the iconic Spartan armor and battle it out on the island. But how long will he be available? Let's dive in.

Master Chief's previous appearance ended on June 3, 2022, making his December 23, 2024 return a welcome surprise. This time around, he's here to stay (at least for a little while!).

How to Get Master Chief in Fortnite

The Master Chief outfit is available for purchase in the Fortnite Item Shop for 1,500 V-Bucks. This purchase includes the iconic Master Chief skin, complete with Halo Infinite armor, and the free Battle Legend Back Bling.

While there's no LEGO style this time, you can also grab a variety of Halo-themed items as part of the Master Chief Bundle, or individually:

Item Name Item Type Item Cost (V-Bucks)
Master Chief Bundle Bundle 2,600
Master Chief Outfit Outfit 1,500
Gravity Hammer Pickaxe 800
UNSC Pelican Glider 1,200
Lil' Warthog Emote 500

The Master Chief Bundle includes the outfit, back bling, pickaxe, glider, and emote.

Important Note: Master Chief will only be available in the Fortnite Item Shop until December 30, 7 PM ET. Don't miss out!

Unlocking the Matte Black Master Chief Style

Good news! Epic Games has confirmed that the Matte Black style for the Master Chief outfit is still unlockable. To get it, simply purchase the Master Chief outfit and then play a single match of Fortnite Battle Royale on an Xbox Series X|S.

Previously, there was misinformation suggesting this style was no longer available. This has been corrected, so take advantage of this opportunity to complete your Master Chief collection!
