Fortnite Adds a Highly Requested Feature

Summary

  • Fortnite players can now equip festival instruments as pickaxes and back blings.
  • This new feature, easily accessible via the locker's "instruments" option, has been incredibly well-received.
  • The update also includes Godzilla collaboration cosmetics, featuring new outfits and accessories.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1's latest update lets players use Fortnite Festival instruments as pickaxes and back blings. This is just one of several recent additions to the game that have been warmly welcomed by fans. In December 2024, Epic Games introduced new modes like Ballistic, LEGO Fortnite: Brick Life, and Fortnite OG.

Fortnite Festival itself is a major mode, adding unique gameplay features. Many consider it a spiritual successor to Guitar Hero, with players using instruments to play songs. The Item Shop offers licensed music and instrument cosmetics. Epic Games recently added local co-op to Fortnite Festival, enhancing its social aspect. The mode has also seen collaborations with major artists such as Snoop Dogg, Metallica, and Lady Gaga.

Epic Games surprised players by allowing instruments previously exclusive to Fortnite Festival to be used in the battle royale mode. Players can now select microphones, guitars, and other instruments as back blings and pickaxes, even using a single instrument for both. When used as a pickaxe, the instrument disappears from the back and reappears upon switching items. This update also features a significant Hatsune Miku crossover, adding new outfits and instruments.

Fortnite’s Instruments Can Now Be Used as Pickaxes and Back Blings

Players can quickly access this new feature by navigating to their locker and using the new "instruments" filter for back blings and pickaxes. Fortnite has also updated instruments previously only usable as back blings or pickaxes to function within Fortnite Festival, adding a new layer of interaction. This highly requested feature has been met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community.

The update also includes new cosmetics from the Fortnite x Godzilla collaboration. Fans can choose between pink and blue edit styles for Godzilla outfits and unlock additional accessories like wraps, harvesters, and gliders through Battle Pass challenges. With a wealth of new content, Fortnite's latest update has generated considerable excitement among players.
