Fans eager to watch the first episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will need to visit Fortnite to see the series before it arrives on Disney+.

Epic Games revealed today how it plans to expand its current Star Wars offerings, announcing that the animated spinoff's initial two episodes will debut exclusively in Fortnite. This is part of the studio's push to deliver more Star Wars content with its upcoming Galactic Battle season, which is packed with themed rewards.

Starting at 10 a.m. ET on May 2—two days before the show releases on Disney+—viewers can catch the first two episodes of Tales of the Underworld featuring Asajj Ventress on the Star Wars Watch Party island. Epic also suggests linking your Epic Games and MyDisney accounts; eligible players will receive a First Order Stormtrooper outfit. Additional perks for linking accounts are expected in the future.

“Disney and Epic are leading the next wave of social entertainment, and this major Star Wars partnership is just the beginning,” said Epic Games President Adam Sussman. “We're redefining immersive storytelling within Fortnite alongside one of the most iconic franchises—expect much more soon.”

The Tales of the Underworld episodes will be available until May 11, after which the Watch Party island goes offline. The island also includes a Battle Arena where players can wield lightsabers against waves of enemies. Watching both episodes unlocks an Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld is a six-episode series animated in the style of The Clone Wars, focusing on Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. According to the official description, Ventress discovers a new shot at life and an unexpected ally, while Bane must confront his past.

Disney's relationship with Fortnite goes beyond the Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, Disney invested $1.5 billion in Epic, paving the way for long-term collaboration. This partnership will introduce more Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar outfits to the battle royale game. Highlights from the upcoming season include Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.

Since its 2017 debut, Fortnite has maintained its dominance in gaming. Recent collaborations, like the Sabrina Carpenter event that had players trading pickaxes for dance moves, continue to keep the game at the top.
