Fortnite's Latest Update: A Blast from the Past with Fan-Favorite Items

Fortnite's newest update is a nostalgic trip for longtime players, bringing back beloved items like the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. This follows a busy December for Epic Games, packed with new skins and the annual Winterfest event.

Winterfest has returned, blanketing the island in snow and introducing event quests, the Icy Feet, and the Blizzard Grenade. Players can also snag festive rewards from the Cozy Cabin and premium skins featuring Mariah Carey, Santa Dogg, and Santa Shaq. Beyond the holiday cheer, Fortnite continues its streak of collaborations, this time with Cyberpunk 2077 and Batman Ninja. But the fun doesn't stop there – the OG mode is also receiving some love.

A recent hotfix for Fortnite's OG mode reintroduced the Launch Pad, a classic Chapter 1, Season 1 item. This iconic traversal tool, predating other mobility options, lets players launch themselves into the air for strategic advantages or quick getaways.

Nostalgia Overload: Classic Weapons and Items Return

The update isn't just about Launch Pads. The Hunting Rifle (Chapter 3) is back, providing long-range combat options, especially welcome given the absence of sniper rifles in Chapter 6, Season 1. Chapter 5's Cluster Clingers also make a comeback, appearing in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.

Fortnite OG's popularity is undeniable. The mode attracted 1.1 million players in its first two hours. To complement the mode, Epic launched an OG Item Shop, restocking classic skins and items. While this nostalgic offering excites many, the return of ultra-rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper has sparked mixed reactions among some players.
