Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Reveals More Gameplay Details

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Mobile RPG Beta Test Announced

Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. Set during the show's fourth season, the game promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.

The closed beta, running from January 16th to 22nd, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions, offers fans a sneak peek before the full release later this year. Players can register via the game's official website.

Featuring class-based progression with "fully manual" controls, Kingsroad boasts a roster of iconic characters including Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and Drogon. The game introduces an original storyline centered around a new character, the heir to House Tyre in the North. The combat is described as "raw, aggressive, and destructive."

The over-one-minute trailer showcases the game's features, highlighting the class-based system and manual controls. Inspired by Wildlings, Dothraki, and the Faceless Men, the game's original characters promise a unique Game of Thrones adventure. The game's potential to deliver a compelling narrative is bolstered by its connection to the established lore and characters created by George R.R. Martin and the HBO adaptation.

This mobile title arrives as fans eagerly await the next installment in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, The Winds of Winter. While the manuscript faces setbacks, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad offers a captivating interim experience for fans, alongside other upcoming projects like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon season 3.
