Gears of War: E-Day Co-Developer People Can Fly Signs New Project With Sony, Codenamed Project Delta

Author : Natalie Mar 15,2025

People Can Fly, the studio behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of Gears of War: E-Day, has inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to develop a new game, codenamed Project Delta. This work-for-hire agreement, detailed in a report from People Can Fly, offers little information about the project itself.

The studio is juggling multiple projects with similar codenames, including Project Gemini with Square Enix (which unfortunately saw 30 layoffs last year), Project Echo with Krafton, Project Red (also seemingly with Sony), and the recently announced Project Bison, their final VR title.

Last December, People Can Fly announced the suspension of Project Victoria and scaled back development on Project Bifrost. Earlier, in April, they cancelled Project Dagger, an action-adventure game planned in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.

Despite these adjustments, People Can Fly currently has eight known projects underway, including the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day collaboration with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day remains unannounced, Project Gemini (the Square Enix partnership) was last slated for a 2026 release.
