Glauco Longhi's LinkedIn Profile Hints at a New IP
A Sci-Fi Game?
Glauco Longhi, a veteran character artist and developer who worked on God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök, recently updated his LinkedIn profile. His new entry reveals his return to Santa Monica Studio earlier this year to oversee character development on an undisclosed project. The description states his role involves supervising character development and pushing the boundaries of character design in video games.
Adding fuel to the fire, Cory Barlog, creative director of the 2018 God of War reboot, previously indicated the studio was simultaneously working on multiple projects. Longhi's LinkedIn profile also highlights Santa Monica Studio's ongoing recruitment efforts, particularly for character artists and tools programmers, suggesting significant expansion and project development.
Speculation points to a new sci-fi IP, possibly under the leadership of Stig Asmussen (God of War 3 creative director). While unconfirmed, Sony's earlier trademarking of "Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet" further fuels this speculation, although no further details have emerged. Past rumors of a cancelled PS4 sci-fi project from the studio also contribute to the ongoing intrigue.
